Kerkeslin Crag
Kerkeslin Crag is on the East side of the Icefields Parkway just south of Athabasca Falls. It takes 30 min to drive to the trailhead from Jasper and another 40min to hike gently uphill to the base of the cliff. The overall climbing angle is slightly less than vertical. The rock is quartzite, which tends to have big in-cut edges to hold on to. This is a fantastic place to introduce yourself to sport climbing, absorb some sun, and enjoy views into the rugged mountains along the great divide.
