Morro Peak – 6-8hrs Guides route 12 pitches 5.7

A fantastic route overlooking the Athabasca river valley. This route has comfortable ledges the whole way up between pitches of climbing. The climbing is generally easy with 4 pitches in the 5.6 to 5.7 range. Morro peak is a 15 minute drive from the town of Jasper. The approach to the route takes about 1hour on a steep trail. 8 continuous pitches of climbing gains a large bench where30 minutes of walking gets us to the summit tower. The summit tower consists of another 3-4 pitches of climbing to the top. A worn trail takes us back down to the parking lot from the summit. This route has a ton of really fun casual climbing on it! The perfect first experience to longer multi pitch rock routes. We will be carrying our stuff up the climb as we go down a different way.

Bedson Ridge – 8-11 hrs Return to Splendor 7 pitches 5.8

The best multi pitch rock climbing in Jasper. Impeccable limestone with striking corner features 200m off the deck. Wow! Getting there is a worthy adventure in it’s own right. Previous multi pitch climbing experience is recommended. Bedson Ridge is close to the road yet made remote by the river. Access is either by crossing the Athabasca river by boat from an access point 30 minutes drive from the town of Jasper or by dirt roads accessed from the town of Brule 1.5 hrs drive from the town of Jasper. Once across the river the railroad track is followed for a short distance to faint goat trails that lead to the base of the cliff. The steep climbing on generally big holds will speak for itself.

Arguably the best multi pitch rock route in Jasper. The toughest climbing on this one is an airy 10m overhang that we traverse under and around 200m off the deck. BURLY!! It doesn’t get any better than this. Getting there is a worthy adventure in it’s own right. Bedson Ridge is close to the road yet made remote by the river. Cadot Crack – 12-15hrs Cadot Crack 15 pitches 5.7

This is one of the longest multi pitch rock routes in Jasper. 15 pitches of technical climbing with sections of scrambling mixed in. A classic test piece! Cadot crack is a climb in the Queen Elizabeth Range overlooking Medicine Lake. A 30 minute drive from the town of Jasper gets us to where we park. From here follow a faint goat trail up steep slopes and past a small cliff band to the base of the route (about 1hr). A small overhang on pitch 2 provides the crux of the route, but don’t be fooled. 15 pitches of technical rock mostly in the 5.6/5.7 range will leave you gasping for air by the top. Previously multi pitch climbing experience is recommended. We will be carrying back packs while we climb this one.
