Morro Peak – 6-8hrs Guides route 12 pitches 5.7

A fantastic route overlooking the Athabasca river valley. This route has comfortable ledges the whole way up between pitches of climbing. The climbing is generally easy with 4 pitches in the 5.6 to 5.7 range. Morro peak is a 15 minute drive from the town of Jasper. The approach to the route takes about 1hour on a steep trail. 8 continuous pitches of climbing gains a large bench where30 minutes of walking gets us to the summit tower. The summit tower consists of another 3-4 pitches of climbing to the top. A worn trail takes us back down to the parking lot from the summit. This route has a ton of really fun casual climbing on it! The perfect first experience to longer multi pitch rock routes. We will be carrying our stuff up the climb as we go down a different way.
