A great introduction to multi pitch climbing. Several options exist from 1 pitch to 4 pitches long on sculpted limestone. Hidden Valley is a 30 minute drive from the town of Jasper. The hiking approach is short and steep through a small canyon. The climbing routes begin 40 minutes up the trail. There are several options for climbing from easy to difficult to challenge all abilities. Most multi pitch routes are around the 5.4 to 5.9 grade with comfortable ledges along the way. Options exist to walk down from the top of the route or rappel depending on the route.

Equipment list for day rock climbing

• Daypack large enough for spare clothing, lunch, climbing equipment
• Lunch and water
• Sunglasses and sunscreen
• Rain gear
• Clothing suitable for the weather (long pants help protect the knees while climbing)
• Lightweight hiking boots
• I can provide rock shoes, harness, helmet and all technical climbing equipment
• You will need to pick up rock shoes from Gravity Gear the day before the climb
